Margarida Alves, Lisboa, Portugal, 1983

PT - O trabalho artístico de Margarida Alves tem um carácter interdisciplinar e incide sobre questões de cariz existencialista, que abrangem temas associados à origem, alteridade, antropoceno, construções históricas, científicas e filosóficas da realidade. É doutorada em Belas Artes (FBAUL, 2021) como o projecto Matéria (In)tangível: Entre o infinitamente grande e o ínfimo que aprofunda, financiado pela Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Belas Artes. Fez o mestrado em Arte e Ciência do Vidro (FCTUNL & FBAUL, 2015), licenciaturas em Escultura (FBAUL, 2012) e Engenharia Civil (FCTUNL, 2005). É artista residente no colectivo interdisciplinar Atelier Concorde.

EN - Margarida employs a variety of media (sculpture, installation, performance, photography or film). Subjects related to existentialism, such as the phenomena of our being, alterity, origin, and the anthropocene, are present in her work, which takes artistic, historical, philosophical, and scientific perspectives into account. She earned a PhD in Fine Arts (FBAUL, 2021) with the project (In)tangible Matter: Between the Infinitely Large and the Small That Deepens, which was supported by a research studentship from the Faculty of Fine arts of the University of Lisbon. She holds a master's degree in Glass Art and Science (FCTUNL & FBAUL, 2015), as well as degrees in Sculpture (FBAUL, 2012) and Civil Engineering (FCTUNL, 2005). She is a member of Atelier Concorde, a collective and interdisciplinary workspace.
